From pastor’s wife in Australia…

“I was privileged to do some personal counseling with Jennifer. I was struggling with an issue that had reared its head repeatedly since childhood. I was able to work through the issue with Jennifer in a short space of time, and while the results weren’t immediate, I truly think I am experiencing freedom from that particular issue now as I look backwards a few years later. It was invaluable to work through my personal issue in a safe, confidential, and understanding space. As a pastor’s wife, I felt there was no one else I was able to share my issue with, as I am often in a position of supporting others and find it necessary to lay aside my own struggles in order to do that well. While I seek to live an honest, transparent life within our congregation and more broadly, some issues have arisen which are simply not appropriate to share openly with everyone. So I have found it vital to seek out counselling and personal coaching to help me grapple with these more sensitive issues, so I can serve others without being distracted or hindered by my own baggage, and also just have a few emergency contacts to call on when I feel like I need to chat through new complex issues that arise especially in a church context.”
