How I work

I believe we’re better together.

Hi Therapists and Coaches!

I would love to collaborate with you to bring your clients adjunctive therapeutic formats that you may not currently offer. I believe that a team approach is best and that when we’re each doing our part and working together clients improve much more quickly. If you have a client that you’re feeling a bit stuck with because of persistent trauma related stuck points, I would love to help.

I work in an intensives only format, with a targeted therapeutic focus and clear beginning and ending dates. So, I love to work alongside other therapists and coaches to help in the ways that I am gifted and then lovingly send their clients back to them for follow up and ongoing support, if needed.

If you would be interested in partnering in this way, let’s plan a time to talk about possibilities.

For Freedom & Joy,

‍ ‍Jennifer

And sometimes, you’d prefer not to refer out…

We’ve all been there. You’ve been working with someone for awhile. You developed great rapport and it seemed to be going well. You were making progress and then, for some reason, you just got stuck. Therapy stalled. You began circling around and around, following the same conversation patterns.

You may even have started to dread seeing this person on your schedule because you don’t know what to do next or how to help. You’re starting to think it is time to “graduate” them but they don’t seem ready to go.

  • Frustrated

  • that maybe you’re just not a good fit for this client

  • unconfident in your clinical (or coaching) skills

  • the beginnings of burnout…

You may be feeling…

I’d love to help you with:

A Get Unstuck Session (with Brainspotting + Coaching)

  • Feel supported in your work by someone who is also doing the work. I get it and have been there, probably even this week.

  • Practice self compassion

  • Access your deeper brain and shift the sticking point so you can find your footing again with your client and move things forward (for their benefit and for yours).

  • Ignite creativity; two minds are better than one!

  • Experience a deep brain therapy that you may not have tried before. Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover you want to get trained in Brainspotting!

At the end of the day…

I want you to know that you may still be exactly who this client needs. You just need a little help getting unstuck, whether that means processing some countertransference that has come up or being reminded of what you actually already know, you just need a new perspective on the situation.

Or, perhaps you just need a conversation partner—someone to bounce ideas around with…

Frequently asked questions

  • I’m so glad you asked!

You can learn more here: Brainspotting page

  • We’ll meet for a 90 minute session. You can share a bit about what is going on, if you want to, but we’ll mainly focus on how this is affecting you and where you are feeling stuck. Then we’ll do some Brainspotting and then debrief. I’m also happy to follow up and continue our conversation via email, as thoughts occur to you and sub-cortical connections continue to be made in the hours and days following a Brainspotting session.

  • No. My therapist consultations are stand alone appointments. I am happy for you to schedule another one, however, if another issue comes up that you’d like to collaborate on.

  • I am based in a suburb of Chicago and see clients primarily virtually, although special arrangements can sometimes be made for in person work together.

Intensives are more often in person, with out of state clients traveling to be in Chicago for their work.

  • Trauma Restorying Intensives, Marriage Restorying Intensives, Professional Coaching (for pastors, therapists and coaches), and nervous system support work, as outlined and provided through Jennifer Ziegler LLC are not designed to be clinical services. The following further articulates my thinking on this:

    • Non clinical work is that for which I am not involved in ongoing care, as primary therapist or collaborating professional.

    • My work is NOT diagnostic, is not considered medical treatment, and is only for the purpose of accelerating healing or jumpstarting a healing process, not intended to constitute comprehensive care.

    • I do not see clients for ongoing services but rather for intensives or packages that have a clear start and end date. I provide specialized services and then allow primary therapists to continue with ongoing care and support.

Chicago based.

If you happen to be local to the Chicago area, let’s talk about possibilities of “in person” adjunctive collaboration. I love a good cup of coffee or an opportunity to walk and plan!
