Collaborating with church leadership for ministry team health
Faith Aligned Trauma Care
Supporting pastors as they care for the church
How I work
At the core of my approach to healing is a belief that God has designed us for wholeness and joy.
And when something traumatic happens, whether at a congregational level, within your ministry team, or in your own family, it can be incredibly hard to know to how to continue showing up in a grounded, emotionally mature, relationally adept way, putting the needs of others first but still also caring for oneself. Too often, church leadership neglects themselves in their pursuit of congregational health and the effects of that can be catastrophic. We can end up putting out fire after fire while leaving no space for our own recovery. And, eventually burnout sets in and health is affected, and occasionally, ministries are walked away from.
The health of a church’s leadership team always impacts the health of the congregation which in turn affects neighborhoods, communities, and many more ripples outward. The ministry of the gospel and loving people for Jesus must begin within your team.
I specialize in caring for pastor’s families and ministry teams. Each situation is a bit different so let’s talk about what might be most helpful. You know your team best and I know trauma and what is needed for healing. Let’s work together to come up with a care solution that will provide your church with its best opportunity for healthy growth through stressful times.
Ways I can support pastors and gospel coaches:
A deep understanding of the ins and outs of church leadership combined with therapeutic education, experience, and practice.
Trouble shooting stuck places for your clients/members
Years of experience and knowledge of how people experience and heal from trauma (including religious trauma, spiritual abuse, sexual abuse, moral injury…)
Nervous system calming interventions to support your well-being.
The knowledge that you are not alone.
An accepting and confidential space in which to process struggles, including professional burnout and compassion fatigue.
Someone who will pray with and for you, especially as regards your wise coaching of those under your care.
Let’s work together.
